Менисковая линза представляет собой линзу с двумя сферическими поверхностями, выпуклыми с одной стороны и вогнутыми с другой. Объектив обеспечивает меньший диаметр луча, чтобы уменьшить потери луча и сферическую аберрацию. При объединении одного мениска с другим объективом фокусное расстояние укорачивается, а числовая апертура системы увеличивается. Это уменьшает искажение изображения и улучшает разрешение изображения.
There are two types of meniscus lenses:
● Положительная менисковая линза
Положительная линза используется в приложениях, требующих небольшого фокусного числа (менее 2,5). Для фокусных расстояний от 2,5 до 10 менисковая линза минимизирует размер пятна и улучшает качество изображения. Кривизна вогнутой стороны положительной линзы меньше, а кривизна выпуклой стороны больше.

● Отрицательная менисковая линза
Линза с отрицательным мениском используется для приложений, использующих инфракрасные материалы с высоким показателем преломления. Эти линзы служат заменой другим отрицательным линзам с большей кривизной на вогнутой стороне и меньшей кривизной на выпуклой стороне. Они используются в приложениях для расширения луча, где требуется минимальная сферическая аберрация.
